Birmingham Legion

Where we left off last year

2024 season: 45 points, 9th in the Eastern Conference

Birmingham has been uniquely consistent over the years, trusting Tommy Soehn and a solid core to make noise in the East every single season. The rest of the conference caught up in 2024, meaning that the Legion missed the playoffs for the first time in club history.

Still, it was far from a disaster. Birmingham signed up-and-coming U.S. youth national team prospect Ramiz Hamouda, unearthed a USL star in the making in midfielder Kobe Hernandez-Foster, and weren’t out of the playoff race until the bitter end.

Two main problems defined Birmingham's year: inconsistent finishing and a lackadaisical tempo. While both issues went unaddressed last season, they're correctible, meaning that the Legion have doubled down on Soehn once more heading into the new year.
