Why teenage U.S. attacker Bryce Jamison is drawing transfer interest while in USL Championship

The 18-year-old Orange County SC winger could be on the move in January. Here’s what makes Jamison so special.

Plenty of prospects shine because of breakaway speed, but it takes more than athleticism to make it in Europe.

Bryce Jamison is fast, but the 18-year-old’s ever-improving technique and confidence have put him on European radars. That skill set is why the USL Championship’s Orange County SC is likely to earn a handsome transfer fee for Jamison in January.

A 2006-born Atlanta native, Jamison briefly played in the Atlanta United youth system before joining the Barca Residency Academy in Arizona. Famous for producing such talents as Diego Luna and Julian Araujo, the Barca environment gave Jamison a chance to grow and showcased his abilities to professional scouts. A contract with Orange County – a regular suitor of Barca prospects – soon followed.

Jamison’s play has improved sharply over the course of three seasons since joining OCSC in the second division. As a 16-year-old in 2022, Jamison made one start and totaled just 100 minutes of play. In 2023, he made the leap up to 27 appearances. By the end of 2024, Jamison was practically the first name on the Orange County team sheet; he ultimately accrued more than 2,000 minutes on the right wing.
