Where we left off last year
2024 season: 42 points, 11th in the Eastern Conference
Always a bridesmaid, never the bride. Loudoun was oh-so-close to finally making the playoffs in 2024, but they couldn't quite break a streak that's extended over the entire course of club history. Still, last season was a line in the sand for Loudoun. This team was older, wiser, and more legitimately dangerous than we've ever seen.
To get there, Loudoun brought in USL veterans Tommy McCabe and Drew Skundrich in the pivot and leaned into proven pros like Kwame Awuah (signed out of the Canadian Premier League in 2023, injured most of that year) and Keegan Tingey (inked from MLS Next Pro). Meanwhile, young holdovers like Zach Ryan and Abdellatif Aboukoura were given the runway to flourish.
Loudoun had to change shapes partway through the year, but they nearly pulled it off by the time October rolled around. 2025 ought to be the season this club breaks through.
