Where we left off last year
2024 season: 52 points, 6th in the Western Conference, 10th in MLS
The Loons endured a bit of a slow start to the first season of the post-Adrian Heath era, with manager Eric Ramsay arriving late. Still, a busy summer window from chief soccer officer Khaled El-Ahmad and the rest of the sporting department, along with a fantastic season from Robin Lod that papered over the loss of Emanuel Reynoso, turned 2024 into a largely positive season for Minnesota United.
They won a playoff series! Tani Oluwaseyi enjoyed a breakout start to the year up top! Kelvin Yeboah joined as a Designated Player and produced out of the gates! Ramsay’s aggressive tactical setup seemed to fit!
Still, there’s a worry that the gap between Minnesota United and the true elites in MLS remains quite large. Their drubbing at the hands of the LA Galaxy in the Western Conference semis looms large.
