MLS 2025 Season Previews - Backheeled
With a new MLS season just around the corner, we have in-depth previews for all 30 teams.

Where we left off last year
2024 season: 59 points, 3rd in the Western Conference, 6th in MLS
The first half of Real Salt Lake’s 2024 season? Absolute magic. Chicho Arango was playing at an MVP-level, Andres Gomez looked like a Best XI-level winger, and Pablo Mastroeni’s revamped tactical setup was working wonders for a team that found themselves in the Supporters’ Shield race.
The second half of RSL’s year? Yeah…about that. Arango got himself suspended, Gomez was sold to Ligue 1 in an eight-figure deal, the attack dried up, and they were bounced in the first round of the playoffs.
Rebuilding the plane while you’re flying it isn’t so easy, as it turns out.
